Boro procurement begins in Netrokona

(BSS)- The procurement of Boro paddy began in Kendua upazila here today.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Imdadul Haq Talukdar inaugurated the program at the food warehouse in the paurasava this morning.

Upazila Food Controller Kawsar Ahmed, In-Charge of the Food Warehouse Motakabbir Khan, President of Poura BNP Khokon Ahmed and President of Press Club Sekul Islam Khan, among others, were present.

Motakabbir Khan, "A target has been set to procure 1,501 metric tons of Boro paddy and 4,250 metric tons of boiled rice this season."

Under this procurement drive, paddy will be purchased at Tk 36 per kg and boiled rice at Tk 49 per kg until August 31, he added.
