4 burnt in gas explosion at textile mills in N`ganj

Four people sustained burn injuries after a gas line exploded at Manju Textile Mills at Kazi Para area in Narayanganj`s Rupganj upazila on Thursday morning.

Injured security guards Md Kabir, 45, and Md Hannan, 52, accounts officer Md Saiful Islam, 25, and Saiful were admitted to the emergency unit of National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

The four were working at the mills when the explosion occurred at about 8:30AM, said Md Farruq Ahmed, who brought the victims to the hospital.

Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute, said, of the injured, one suffered 53 per cent of burns, another 40 per cent, one 34 per cent, and another only 2 per cent.
