Tk 480cr proposed for textile, jute sector

An allocation of Tk 480 crore has been proposed for textile and jute sector in the proposed budget for the 2025–26 fiscal year.

In the previous year, the budget for this sector was Tk 1,217 crore.

On Monday, Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed presented the proposal for new fiscal year`s budget on Monday.

He said, “For the upcoming fiscal year, I am proposing an allocation of Tk 480 crore for textile and jute sector, which was Tk 1,217 crore in the 2024–25 fiscal year and stood at Tk 1,140 crore in revised budget.”
