Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has declared that Israel’s latest military offensive against Iran has eliminated the possibility of diplomatic talks between Tehran and Washington.
In remarks to Iranian media on Saturday, Baghaei accused Israel of crossing Tehran’s red lines, stating that Iran expects global condemnation of what he described as "heinous crimes."
He argued that U.S. support for Israel contradicts any claims of willingness to negotiate.
"It makes no sense for Washington to profess interest in dialogue while enabling a regime that violates Iran’s territorial integrity," he said.
Baghaei emphasized that the UN Security Council has a responsibility to address Israel’s aggressive actions, urging the international body to take decisive measures.
He further claimed that Israel’s strikes could not have happened without U.S. approval, suggesting that the offensive was part of a broader strategy to destabilize Iran.
"The Zionist regime has always sought to entangle Western powers, and this time, too, it appears to have succeeded," Baghaei asserted.
The remarks come after Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran on June 13, targeting civilian nuclear facilities and residential areas.
Iranian officials report that dozens of civilians, senior nuclear scientists, and high-ranking military officials have been killed.
Iran and the United States were scheduled to attend the sixth round of indirect nuclear talks in Oman on Sunday. However, following the Israeli attacks, Tehran has yet to formally announce its withdrawal, though analysts suggest it is unlikely that Iranian officials will participate.
The latest military exchanges between Israel and Iran have heightened fears of a broader conflict, with international observers urging restraint.
Washington has not officially responded to Iran’s claims, but the possibility of further diplomatic fallout remains high.
