Ministry of Foreign Affairs today (June 17) said Chief Adviser (CA) Prof Yunus’s recent visit to the United Kingdom “very successful.”
At this time the ministry also highlighted CA’s meeting with King Charles III and progress on asset recovery efforts.
“This visit was, in our view, highly successful,” Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique told journalists at a press briefing held at the ministry.
He mentioned that the Chief Adviser’s schedule became more extensive than initially planned and that he received full state protocol during the visit.
Siddique pointed out several notable outcomes, including a private meeting with King Charles III, steps taken towards recovering stolen assets, and the conferring of the King Charles III Harmony Award to Professor Yunus.
Professor Yunus was presented with the King Charles III Harmony Award at a formal event on Thursday, held at St James’s Palace in London.
Prior to the award ceremony, the Chief Adviser was hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace for a private meeting.
The foreign ministry informed that the one-on-one meeting between the two leaders lasted about thirty minutes and focused on matters of shared interest.
