10-km jam grips Dhaka-Sylhet highway in B’baria

At least 10 kilometers long tail back was seen on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Ashuganj Golchattar and Bishwaroad areas of Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria district.

The gridlock causing extreme suffering for long-distance passengers and those involved in goods transportation.

It is reported that heavy rains are creating large potholes and damaging the road which is significantly slowing down vehicles.

Passengers and goods transporters are facing severe delays, leading to concerns about rising prices for essential goods. While the Army previously helped, slow repair work has brought back the old problems.

Hatihati Highway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mamun Rahman confirmed the incident and said that they are working to clear the traffic congestion,

Due to continuous rain, they faced difficulties to do their duties, added the OC.
