The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds across the country in the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am today (Monday).

According to the Met office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at most places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Some areas in Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions may experience moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The bulletin also mentioned a likely drop in both day and night temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius across the country.

On Sunday, the highest temperature was recorded at 38.5°C in Sayedpur under the Rangpur Division, while Tangail experienced the day’s lowest temperature at 24°C this morning.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:49 pm today and rise at 5:19 am tomorrow, the bulletin added.
