Two bodies recovered from Kuakata beach
  Date : 02-08-2025

The naval police have recovered the body of a fisherman and an unidentified person from two separate locations on Kuakata beach in Patuakhali district on Friday.

The two individuals were among the five missing fishermen from a trawler that sank in the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata.

Police have identified one as Nazrul Islam, 60, was found at Mirabari point and other person, found at Gangamati Point, has not yet been confirmed, said Kuakata Naval Police Station in-charge Bikash Mondal.

He said that locals informed them about two bodies washing ashore at the area.

It is worth noting that on July 25, a fishing trawler named FB Sagarkannya, with 15 fishermen on board, sank in the Bay of Bengal, 75 kilometers deep from the last buoy.

After drifting at sea for four days, ten fishermen were rescued. It is believed that the two recovered bodies belong to the unfortunate missing fishermen.
