Anti-Sabotage Combing Operation to Run Throughout August
  Date : 04-08-2025

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has launched a combing operation in the capital due to fears of sabotage against the interim government. The DMP announced that the operation will continue throughout the entire month of August.

On Saturday, August 2, Deputy Commissioner of the Ramna Division, Md. Masud Alam, shared this information at a press conference at the DMP Media Center.

"There are various concerns and fears surrounding the month of August, which have also been reported in the media," he said. "The police are fully on alert in light of this. All our teams, police stations, and units are working."

Masud Alam stated that police have received intelligence about preparations for sabotage, centered on the one-year anniversary of the government`s collapse.

While there are no direct threats in the current situation, he mentioned that some political leaders are housing former government workers in multiple flats in Dhaka, and these locations are being monitored.

The DMP official also added that residential hotels, student hostels, messes, and slums—where secret activities could be conducted—are also under surveillance.
"The combing operation is ongoing and will continue throughout the month of August," Masud Alam confirmed.
