kamrul Hasan: Former captain of the national football team, BNP Central Executive Committee Sports Affairs Secretary, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener and Dhaka-16 constituency paddy sheaf leader Aminul Haque said — BNP believes in implementing not just promises. In the past, the nationalist party has never broken its promises, but has always strived for the welfare of the country and the nation. The shining examples of this are martyred President Ziaur Rahman, national leader Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP Acting Chairman Deshnayak Tarique Rahman.
He said this to football lovers, former and current players, sports organizers, sports journalists, fans and locals from different parts of the country at the inauguration ceremony of the “Red & Green Army Get-Together 2025” held in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Former SAFF Championship captain Aminul Haque said that despite being subjected to oppression and torture for the past 17 years, BNP has never backed down. It has always strived to sustain the sports arena and will continue to do so in the future.
He also said, “The real power to keep sports alive and moving forward is the sincerity and active participation of the fans. No matter how hard the players try on the field, the fight remains incomplete if the gallery is not filled with support.”
He announced that if BNP forms the government, it will restart the trend of ‘New Buds’ pioneered by martyred President Ziaur Rahman and start a nationwide talent hunt program. Through this, talented players will emerge from Azparagaon as well. He also highlighted plans to make sports mandatory in all educational institutions of the country, create sustainable employment for former players, and develop a new generation through experienced athletes.
Aminul Haque said, BNP is committed to taking all necessary steps to improve the quality of sports. For this, everyone will have to work together to implement the 31-point plan announced by the acting chairman and ensure the victory of the rice sheaf.
Finally, he prayed for the well-being of Begum Khaleda Zia and the good health and longevity of Tarique Rahman. A pleasant cultural program was organized at the end of the meeting.
