kamrul Hasan : There is no alternative to Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP, in building a developed country and a prosperous nation, said SA Jinnah Kabir, a member of the central executive committee and former general secretary of the district BNP, senior member of the district BNP convening committee and BNP nomination aspirant for Manikganj-1 constituency.
He made this comment while speaking as the chief guest at a road meeting organized by BNP in Wards 4, 5 and 6 of Arua Union in Shibaloy Upazila of Manikganj on Thursday afternoon and a 31-point campaign program to repair the state structure announced by Tarique Rahman.
The meeting was presided over by Union BNP President Rafiz Uddin Kazi. At this time, District Jubo Dal convener Gazi Mostaq Hossain Dipu, District Krishak Dal vice-president Masudur Rahman Masud, Upazila BNP general secretary Mizanur Rahman Liton, Organizing secretary Nasir Uddin, Union BNP general secretary Suruj Mia, Upazila Jubo Dal convener Mohammad Hossain Ali, District Swechchhasebak Dal senior joint convener Kazi Nadim Hossain Tuel, District Chhatra Dal senior joint general secretary Zahidul Islam Jihad, Organizing secretary Shakib Khan Ayan, and leaders of district, upazila, union and ward BNP and allied organizations were present.
SA Jinnah Kabir said that due to the mass uprising of BNP, students and the public, dictator Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country on August 5 and a new Bangladesh was created. Everyone must unite to protect the country`s independence, democracy and peace and order.
He said that the interim head of government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has announced that the national elections will be held in the first half of February next year. This election is very important for resolving the national crisis, restoring democracy and ensuring the people`s right to vote.
He also said, "A group is conspiring to sabotage the elections. They are never beneficial for the country and the nation. Therefore, party leaders and activists and the general public must forget their differences and unite to resist these evil forces."
At this time, he called for further strengthening the organizational structure to ensure the victory of the rice sheaf in every constituency of Manikganj, known as the stronghold of BNP, in addition to making the 31-point program announced by the national leader Tarique Rahman a success to implement the dream of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
He sought everyone`s prayers for the speedy recovery of the national leader Begum Khaleda Zia and the long life of Tarique Rahman.
Earlier, he participated in a view-exchange meeting with leaders of five unions of BNP and allied organizations of Daulatpur Upazila at his residence in Manikganj city.
