kamrul hasan: Engineer Moinul Islam Khan Shanto, member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council, former MP of Manikganj-2, and former General Secretary of Manikganj District BNP, has stated that there is no alternative to BNP’s Acting Chairman and national leader Tarique Rahman in building a developed country and a prosperous nation.
He made the remarks on Friday evening (12 September) at a courtyard meeting organized by BNP in Ward No. 5 of Singair Municipality. Prior to the meeting, a campaign and leaflet distribution program promoting the 31-point state reform agenda announced by Tarique Rahman was held. Shanto addressed party leaders, activists, voters, and local residents during the event.
The meeting was presided over by BNP leader Shamsul Islam Khan.
Shanto said that due to the uprising led by BNP, students, and the general public, autocrat Sheikh Hasina was compelled to leave the country on 5 August, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Bangladesh. He urged everyone to remain united to protect the country’s independence, democracy, peace, and law and order.
He mentioned that interim government head, Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has announced that the national election will be held in the first half of February next year. According to Shanto, this election is extremely important for resolving the nation’s crisis, restoring democracy, and ensuring the people’s right to vote.
Engineer Moinul Islam Khan Shanto said, “A certain group is conspiring to sabotage the electoral process. They have never worked for the benefit of the country and the nation. Therefore, party leaders at all levels and the general public must forget divisions and unite to resist these negative forces.”
He called for the successful implementation of the 31-point program announced by Tarique Rahman to fulfill the vision of the late President Ziaur Rahman. He also urged strengthening the organizational structure to ensure BNP’s victory in every constituency under the symbol of ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ and to reestablish Manikganj as a stronghold of the party.
At the end of his speech, he prayed for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the long life of national leader Tarique Rahman.
Leaders and representatives from district, upazila, union, and ward-level BNP, along with its allied organizations, were present at the event.
