Singapore envoy meets BNP leaders to discuss election, bilateral ties

Singapore’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Derek Loh, met a delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday to discuss the upcoming national election and bilateral issues.

The meeting, held around 4:00 PM at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, lasted over an hour, BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan said.

The BNP delegation was led by Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and included Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and Organising Secretary Shama Obaed.


Derek Loh was accompanied by the Singapore High Commission’s Chargé d’Affaires Mitchel Lee and Country Director for South Asia Tai Dai Ern.

According to Sayrul Kabir Khan, the discussions took place in a cordial atmosphere and focused on Bangladesh’s current political situation, preparations for the next election, and strengthening bilateral ties.
