2 killed in Mymensingh road crash

Two people were killed and at least seven others were injured after an auto-rickshaw, a covered van and a lorry hit a bus in Tarakanda areas of Mymensingh.

The accident occurred on the Mymensingh-Sherpur road in Bagunda area of Tarakanda upazila around 11:30 am on Sunday (June 22).

According to police and eyewitnesses, when the bus lost control, the auto-rickshaw, covered van and lorry hit the vehicle.

Tarakanda Police Station OC Mohammad Tipu Sultan confirmed this information.

However, the police could not immediately confirm the names and identities of the deceased.

OC Tipu Sultan said, “Traffic on the Mymensingh-Sherpur road has been closed after the accident. The death toll may rise further.”

Several injured people were sent to the hospital, he added.

Police and fire service are working at the scene after receiving information.
