Sylhet Correspondent : Terrorists attacked and looted the goods from the house of Islami Chhatra Shibir leader kawser Mahmud at Agfoud Narainpur village under Jhingabari Union of Kanaighat Upazila of Sylhet at 8-00 PM (night) of Monday ( April-7).

It is alleged, the terrorists ransacked the house and looted valuables from there including gold ornaments, cash money, Televison Sets and Sofa sets. Migrant kawser Mahmud is the former President of No-8 Jhingabari Union unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. He is now an immigrant in the United Kingdom.
According to eye-witness sources, the terrorists attacked in the house of London immigrant Chhatra Shibir leader kawser Mahmud and looted and ransacked the goods of the house incurring a loss of Taka 12/13 lakh( 1.2 to 1.3 million). There are allegations that as a Chhatra Shibir leader kawser Mahmud sometimes sent various posts and shares in the Social Media Facebook criticising the Interim Government. The local people thought the attack in the house of kawser Mahmud might be as a sequel of the political rivalry.
Maulana Kamal Ahmad, Ameer of Jamaat-e- Islami of Kanaighat Upazila demanded exemplary punishment of the attackers and said repeated attacks are being made on Chhatra Shibir leader kawser Mahmud and his family members. The terrorists also attacked his house after the August 5 last. He further informed, during the reign of Sheikh Hasina political cases were filed against him and police went several times in his house to search him. Harassing him with such false cases was regrettable, he added.
Sources from the affected family informed, a gang of seven to eight terrorists with masks on their faces suddenly attacked and entered inside the house by blasting cocktails and ransacked the furniture. They went away by looting Gold ornaments and cash money from the house. Soon after the incident, the family members of the immigrant went to the local Police Station to file a complaint but the police did not take any action in this connection. As a result, the family members are now now suffering from insecurity. A tense situation has been prevailing in the area following the incident.
When contacted Abdul Awal, Officer-in-Charge of Kanaighat Model Police Station over his mobile phone, he cut off the phone by saying he was busy and would talk later. His comment could not be received later on.
