  Attack at the house of Chhatra League leader in Bahubal

Bahubal Correspondent : Local BNP and Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists have allegedly attacked, ransacked and looted the house of a United Kingdom expatriate of No-1 Snangghat Union of Bahubal Upazila under Habiganj district. The incident took place at the house of Md. Shamsul Haque Chowdhury around 4-00 PM on Sunday (April 27). The expatriate Chhatra League leader was identified as Md. Samiul Haque Chowdhury(21).

According to the family sources of the victim, some 12 to 13 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat Shibir entered and attacked the house, ransacked and looted the valuables including, gold ornaments, cash money, Television sets from there before escaping with those.
The victim`s family member of expatriate, went to the local Police Station to file a complaint but the police did not pay any heed of the allegations. As a result, they returned home and they are suffering from insecurity.
Family sources of the victim further informed after the escape of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, their house was attacked. Then Samiul Haque Chowdury had been living at his house and was seriously injured. He left the country to save his life when the terrorists attacked the house again.
According to a reliable source, the terrorists attacked the house of the United Kingdom expatriate, leader of Chhatra League of Habiganj Brindaban College Md. Samiul Haque Chowdhury, damaging the properties amounting to about Taka 20 lakh. His house was attacked over the political rivalry for his offence of engaging with the Chhatra League. That Chhatra League leader was seriously injured in the attack. Even, after the changing political scenario of August 5, his house was attacked. A tense situation has been prevailing in the area following the incident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubal Police Station in this connection informed there was an incident of ransacking and damages at the house of the United Kingdom expatriate Chhatra League leader. ` We came to learn about the incident and would take action after investigation.`
