Kamrul Hasan: S.A. Jinnah Kabir, member of the BNP Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary of Manikganj District BNP, senior member of the district convening committee, and BNP nomination aspirant from Manikganj-1 constituency, has said that if the 31-point state-reform agenda announced by BNP’s Acting Chairman and national leader Tarique Rahman is implemented, Bangladesh will become a developed and prosperous nation.

On Saturday afternoon, speaking as the chief guest at a street rally, leaflet distribution, and campaign program on Tarique Rahman’s 31-point state-reform agenda at the Radha Kantapur Primary School ground in Shibalaya upazila’s Uthli Union Ward No. 6, he made these remarks while addressing party leaders, activists, supporters, general voters, local residents, and women.

The program was presided over by Ward BNP President Md. Boktar Hossain. Among others present were district Jubo Dal convener Kazi Mostak Hossain Dipu, district Krishak Dal senior vice-president Masudur Rahman Masud, Ghior upazila BNP president Mir Manikuzzaman Manik, and district Swechchhasebak Dal joint convener Kazi Nadim Hossain Tuel, along with leaders of BNP and its associate organizations.

He said that because of the foresight of Tarique Rahman, on August 5 the autocratic fascist Hasina was forced to flee the country in the face of the BNP-led student-people’s mass movement, marking the beginning of a new Bangladesh free from fascism.

He added that Tarique Rahman has taught that united people’s strength can make any initiative a reality. Therefore, upholding the ideals of the Proclaimer of Independence, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, and forgetting divisions, everyone must unite to ensure victory for the BNP’s election symbol, the paddy sheaf, to continue the nation’s development—something that will be greatly beneficial for the country and the people.

He further stated that, to fulfill the long-cherished expectations of the people after 17 years, the interim government has decided to hold the national election in the first half of February 2026.

According to him, the ruling party’s downfall in the polls is inevitable. With this in mind, an anti-independence clique is attempting to delay and sabotage the election under the guise of a so-called PR system. He warned that such destructive forces can never bring welfare to the nation and urged the people to build united public opinion to resist them.

Jinnah emphasized that in Manikganj, widely recognized as a BNP stronghold, ensuring the victory of the paddy sheaf symbol requires not only BNP but also every associate body of the party to actively participate in the 31-point campaign. Women, alongside men, must also play a leading role. Only then, he said, will Tarique Rahman become the Prime Minister, and once he assumes that role, all forms of development in the country will be possible.

Finally, he sought prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and long life of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
