The government has appointed 162 officers across various cadres under the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.
A gazette notification, issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, declared the recruitment on Tuesday.
According to the notification, the appointments will be effective retroactively to align their seniority with their batchmates who were previously inducted into service. “Their seniority will be maintained from the date when their original batch joined the civil service,” the circular stated.
However, it clarified that this backdated seniority would not grant the newly appointed officers any arrears in financial benefits. Their salaries will follow the National Pay Scale 2015, which ranges from Tk 22,000 to Tk 53,060 at the entry level.
Out of the BCS 162 officials, 24 were selected for administration cadre, one for foreign service, 15 for agriculture, 65 for general education, seven for police service, five for fisheries, four for information, 10 for livestock, one for roads & highway, two for public health, one for railways, three for cooperatives, one for audit & accounts, four for tax, three for custom & excise, three for food and rests for other cadre services.
