Peace remains top priority but Pakistan will never bow, says DG ISPR
  Date : 24-05-2025

MT Desk: DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif said peace remained a top priority of Pakistan but clarified that it will never bow to any enemy. In an interview with a Chinese media group, the military spokesperson: “After Allah, we rely most on our own strength. Our desire for martyrdom is greater than our desire for life”.

“For Pakistan, the most important thing is its power. When our resolve is strong — as we have demonstrated — the international community also plays its part,” he asserted. He added that all countries around the world are facing major challenges. People are looking toward betterment of humanity, while the world deals with climate change and population growth.

“In such a scenario, should one country unjustifiably and without evidence, launch attacks on another based on false narratives? Should it try to impose hegemony over its neighbors?” DG ISPR questioned while apparently referring to recent Indian aggression. He said Pakistan and India’s Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) have been in contact since ceasefire, and discussions were held on returning troops to routine positions.

He emphasized that peace is Pakistan’s top priority, adding: “If you look at the streets of Pakistan today, you will see people celebrating peace”. He highlighted that both Pakistan and China are working for regional peace and stability. “We are fighting the curse of terrorism, which aims to block progress.”

DG ISPR also said China’s rapid development is something the world should observe. “The people of Pakistan also want to move toward development and stability,” he added. He said people, armed forces and all sectors make the “iron wall of Pakistan”

“We must redirect this wall against the menace of terrorism. And you will see how the country advances swiftly toward progress.”
