From today, there will no longer be a gas crisis in the country`s ready-made garment factories, announced Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
He made the statement while speaking to journalists on Saturday morning following an inspection of a newly established power plant in the new zone of the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) in Ashulia, Savar.
The adviser stated, "Four new LNG cargos have arrived, and gas supply has already commenced. As a result, the gas crisis will no longer persist from today."
He also addressed recent protests at the Rural Electrification Board, saying, "There is no reason for demonstrations or any deadlock. We are working to resolve the protesters` demands, provided they are reasonable."
Earlier in the day, the adviser also visited the Dhaka Palli Bidyut-1 office in Ashulia, accompanied by senior officials from the armed forces.
