At least three people, including a man and his son, were killed and six others injured in a road accident in Mymensingh`s Ishwarganj upazila on Wednesday night.

The accident took place around 7:15 PM PM on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj Highway at Dattapara area in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Abdus Sobhan, 60, and his son Sabuj Mia, 32, and Kahinur Sultana, 35, daughter late Ahammad Ali.

According to locals, a battery-run-auto-rickshaw, locally known Mahindra, was heading towards Ishwarganj. When the mahindra reached at Dattapara area, a BRTC bus hit the mahindra coming from the opposite direction, leaving Sobhan, Sabuj and Kahinur dead and six others injured on the spot.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to nearby hospital for treatment.

Confirming the matter, Ishwarganj Police Station officer-in-charge M Obaydur Rahman said that a team of police rushed to the scene.

Legal process was underway in this connection, the OC added.
