Two killed in Siajganj road crash

Two passengers were killed and another was injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw lost control and crashed into the back of a truck in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district on Tuesday.

The accident occurred in the morning on the Bogura-Nagarbari highway in Moshpur area of the upazila.

The dead have been identified as Abdur Rouf, 50, from Haturia village, and Trisha, 28, wife of Abdus Sattar from Daspara village—both hailing from Bera upazila in Pabna district.

According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rouf of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, the auto-rickshaw was heading from Bera in Pabna towards Sirajganj in the morning. On the way, it lost control and hit a truck from behind with force. The two died on the spot and another passenger was seriously injured.

The OC added that the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and handed over to their respective families.
