Scattered rain likely in Ctg, Sylhet; heatwave persists
  Date : 13-06-2025

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur in parts of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions over the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said today (June 11).

The Met Office also forecast moderately heavy rainfall in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

Daytime temperatures may drop slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country, the forecast added.

Meanwhile, a moderate heatwave continues to sweep over the Nilphamari district. A mild heatwave is also affecting parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions, as well as Brahmanbaria and Feni districts.

Meteorologists noted that the intensity of the heatwave may subside in some areas.

With the monsoon gradually advancing, sporadic rainfall is expected to bring some relief from the sweltering conditions that have gripped parts of the country in recent days.
