  Date : 15-06-2025

Toll collection at the Jamuna Bridge surged in the past 24 hours due to a high volume of vehicles on the Dhaka-Tangail highway during the Eid travel period.

Executive Engineer Ahsanul Kabir Pavel confirmed this information.

A total of Tk 3.43 crore was collected from 49,182 vehicles crossing the bridge between Thursday and Friday.

Of these, 18,365 vehicles were North Bengal-bound, contributing Tk 1.48 crore, while 30,817 vehicles headed to Dhaka generated Tk 1.94 crore.

Heavy traffic was reported on the Dhaka-bound lane as Eid travelers returned from North Bengal. All 18 toll booths, including separate ones for motorcycles, are currently in operation.

Over the last four days, 1,46,568 vehicles have crossed the bridge, generating a total toll of Tk 102.90 crore.
