Rain likely across Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds across the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9am today.

According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thunder showers are likely at most places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and at many places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions. Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some areas of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

The bulletin also said that the day temperature may drop slightly, while the night temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged.

On Monday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 35.2 degrees Celsius in Dimla under Rangpur Division, while today’s lowest temperature was 23 degrees Celsius in Tangail.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:50pm today and rise at 5:18am tomorrow.
