Online Report : Dhaka Education Board Chairman and head of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee Professor Dr. Khondokar Ehsanul Kabir confirmed that no grace or additional marks were awarded to students in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations.
Speaking at a press briefing held at Dhaka Education Board office on Thursday, Prof. Kabir emphasized that the results released this year are a true reflection of the students` actual performance.
“This is the genuine outcome. No student received grace or extra marks. We ensured a completely fair and transparent assessment process,” he said.
He explained that examiners were instructed to evaluate answer scripts strictly on the basis of merit. “Marks were awarded according to what students wrote in their answer scripts. The results were compiled and published through our automated system without any leniency or special consideration,” he added.
Prof. Kabir asserted that, unlike in some previous years, this year’s assessment process was free from any external pressure or influence. “We had complete autonomy. Examiners were told to follow marking guidelines thoroughly, and that’s exactly what they did.”
He urged students, parents and institutions to accept the results with confidence, reiterating that all answer scripts were assessed carefully and fairly.
According to the Ministry of Education, the overall pass rate across the country’s 11 education boards dropped significantly to 68.45 percent, compared to 83.04 percent in 2024.
This year’s SSC and equivalent exams began on April 10 and concluded on May 13.
A total of 19,28,970 students registered for the exams, including 9,67,739 female and 9,61,231 male examinees.
