5 a family burnt in gas leak fire in Narayanganj

Five members of a family suffered burn injuries in a fire caused by a gas leakage at their house in the Kanchpur area of Sonargaon Upazila, Narayanganj, early Thursday. The victims have been admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

The burn victims are: Tinny (12), Munni (14), Mouri (6), Manob Chowdhury (40), and Bacha (38).

Senior Station Officer Jahangir Alam of Shimrail Fire Service said that they had not received any prior information about the fire, and no one contacted them.

Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute, stated that all five members of the family were admitted to their facility. He reported the extent of their burns as follows: Tinny – 22%, Munni – 28%, Mouri – 36%, Manob Chowdhury – 70%, and Bacha – 45%.
