kamrul Hasan: A discussion meeting was held in Manikganj on the implementation of the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities Act. The meeting was jointly organized by the district administration and Manikganj Disabled People`s Organization for Development (MDPOD) at the Deputy Commissioner`s conference room on Thursday.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General and Revenue) Mohammad Ali and was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manowar Hossain Molla as the chief guest. District Legal Aid Officer Durakhsa Jahan Priyanka, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office Abdul Baten, Country Director of Sitesavers Amrita Regina Rosario, Global Campaign Officer Amrita Das, Director of MDPOD Entaj Ali, President of Manikganj Press Club Jahangir Alam Biswas and General Secretary Shahanur Islam.

In addition, Executive Magistrate of the Deputy Commissioner`s Office Md. Sharif Ullah, Executive Officer of Manikganj Municipality Bazlur Rahman, Director of National Polytechnic Institute Dr. Engineer Faruk Hossain, Manager of Manikganj CRP Mahbubul Islam and other committee members were present.

The speakers at the meeting, organized in collaboration with the `Samatar Bangladesh Campaign` and SightSavers Bangladesh Country Office, emphasized the importance of the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act and its proper implementation.
