The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the prices of gold, with 22 carat gold up by Tk 3,135 to Tk 1,85,947 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest so far in the country’s history.
Besides, 21-carat gold was increased by Tk 2,998 to Tk 1,77,503 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 2,578 to Tk 1,52,145, and gold of traditional method by Tk 2,204 to Tk 1,26,146 respectively.
The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Tuesday, September 9.
The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday, September 10.
