Security guard killed in lorry-train collision in Ctg

A man was killed during a collision between a lorry and a goods-laden train at the Sagorika level crossing in Chittagong early Tuesday.

Deceased Shamsul Hye, 60, was a security guard, it was learnt.

According to railway sources, around 4AM, when a Dhaka-bound container-laden train from Chittagong`s CGPY reached at Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium, suddenly a lorry ploughed through the rail line and hit the engine of that train, causing derailment.


Officials from Eastern Railway said, primarily it was known that the gate was opened during the accident. For this, the lorry hit the train engine and one died.
