`Lalon Sondha` held at JU

BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Central Students` Union (JUCSU) has hosted a cultural event titled `Lalon Sondha 2025` under the theme "Manush Dhore Shonar Manush Hobi" (The human who holds human values).

The event took place on Monday night at the university`s Selim Al Deen Muktamancha, reflecting Lalon`s vision for human connection and equality.

The event, aimed at celebrating the life and legacy of Lalon Fakir, the renowned 18th-century Bengali mystic, poet, and folk singer, featured performances of his songs, philosophical teachings, and messages of love, equality, and humanity.

The program included performances by various university groups and local artists, showcasing Lalon`s songs. It also featured speeches and discussions around the eternal message of humanity and love that Lalon advocated through his music.

The program included performances by Fakir Saheb and his group, followed by cultural presentations by Beauty, Doli Mondal, Sukulal Roy, and the Bowl Songs group. Local artists and university performers also showcased Lalon`s music, offering a blend of spiritual and folk melodies.

The programme was attended by Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr M Mahafuzur Rahman, JUCSU leaders, students, faculty members from different departments and institutes.
