6 burnt in N’ganj cement factory boiler blast

Six individuals were injured in a boiler explosion at a cement factory in Madanganj area under Bandar police station in Narayanganj district on Saturday evening.

The burn victims are Nahid Hasan, 22, from Feni, Kamal Hossain, 45, from Pabna, Taizul Islam, 35, from Noakhali, Ferdous, 35, from Jamalpur, Torab Ali, 55, from Kushtia and Atikur Rahman, 42, from Narayanganj. They all were workers in that factory.

According to sources, the boiler explosion occurred at around 7 PM with a loud sound and six workers sustained burn injuries.


Later, they were taken to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for treatment.

According to hospital sources, the burn coverage on their bodies is as follows: Nahid Hasan 40%, Kamal Hossain 26%, Taizul Islam 12%, Ferdous 10%, Torab Ali 16% and Atikur Rahman 27%.

Bandar Fire Service Station in charge Abdullah Hossain confirmed the disaster and said that they will investigate the cause at the site.
