  Date : 24-11-2025

Kamrul Hasan : At a vibrant gathering organized by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Tantidal in Saturia, Manikganj, BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and the party’s nominated candidate for Manikganj–3, Afroza Khanam Rita, said, “The BNP is committed to the people and the development of the country. If you bring the BNP to power, the nation will prosper.”

Amid growing political heat, election preparations, and rising expectations at the grassroots, Monday afternoon’s “Weavers’ Convention,” held in Chhaitra area of Dhankora Union, transformed into a spirited pre-election show of strength. Elderly weavers, young voters, and women from surrounding villages flocked to hear Rita speak.

In her address, Rita stated,
“We have fought to restore the people’s right to vote. Our mission is to establish development, justice, and democracy. The people of Manikganj–3 want change. They seek a secure future, justice, and genuine development for their children.”

She further claimed that if the BNP assumes office, significant progress will be made in improving living standards, creating employment, and developing the education and health sectors.
According to Rita, “The love and support of the people of Manikganj–3 are my real strength. If we remain united in the upcoming election, the people will undoubtedly vote for change.”

The event was addressed by Abul Kalam Azad, the convenor of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Tantidal, as the keynote speaker.
Also present were:

Member Secretary Haji Mujibur Rahman,District Tantidal President Haji Abdus Sattar,General Secretary Advocate Abdur Razzak,Senior Vice President Abdur Rashid Mallik,Joint General Secretary Haji Abdul Alim, along with leaders and activists from various BNP front and associate bodies.

Speakers said thousands of families dependent on the weaving industry have been devastated due to the government`s failure to protect the sector. They expressed hope that the industry would be revitalized if the BNP returned to power.

After the assembly, leaders shared directives aimed at strengthening and energizing grassroots organizational activities. Local activists noted that the gathering would have a positive impact on the electoral landscape.

Following the event, Afroza Khanam Rita attended a Leela Kirtan program in Palpara, Saturia, as the chief guest — an act supporters said reflected her commitment to communal harmony and social connectivity.

Later, she took part in campaigning at Saturia Bazar to promote BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform outline for restructuring the state, and interacted with local residents — further intensifying the pre-election enthusiasm in the area.
