“The Dialysis Center Was Established to Provide Advanced and Affordable Healthcare” : Rita
  Date : 24-11-2025

Kamrul Hasan : Afroza Khanam Rita, Member of the Advisory Council to the BNP Chairperson, Convener of Manikganj District BNP, Chairperson of Munno Group of Industries, and BNP-nominated candidate for Manikganj-3 constituency, has said that the newly launched dialysis center aims to ease the long-standing suffering of kidney patients in Manikganj and ensure advanced healthcare at an affordable cost.

She made the remarks on Monday afternoon (24 November) while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Munno Dialysis Center’ at the premises of Munno Medical College Hospital.

Present at the inauguration were—
Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Principal, Munno Medical College
Brigadier General Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Amin (Retd.), Director, Munno Hospital
Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Nephrology Specialist
Dr. Mamun Chowdhury Raju, Nephrology Specialist
Along with them, doctors from various departments, hospital officers and staff, journalists, local dignitaries, party leaders, and residents attended the event.

In her speech, Afroza Khanam Rita said: “Our initiative aims to provide improved healthcare to the people of Manikganj. Frequent travel to Dhaka for dialysis, the rising cost, and the loss of valuable time—this center has been established primarily to reduce those hardships.”

She stated that the center has initially started operations with two dialysis beds. Considering the growing demand, the facility will soon be expanded to ten beds.

Rita added:“We are continuing to implement our plan to ensure a fully equipped and internationally standard service with modern machinery, specialized nursing and technical staff, and experienced nephrology experts.”

According to medical experts, thousands of patients across the country depend on dialysis every day, yet the lack of adequate dialysis centers at the district level causes great suffering. In this context, the opening of the dialysis center at Munno Medical College Hospital is being seen as a significant milestone for healthcare in Manikganj.

Hospital authorities have also announced plans to introduce an advanced nephrology department, a kidney transplant consultation clinic, and affordable long-term treatment packages in the future.

Stakeholders believe that this new dialysis center is not just a healthcare unit—rather, it represents a beacon of hope for thousands of kidney patients in the district. With improved, affordable, and safe treatment available locally, patients and their families will be relieved of financial and psychological burdens.

In her concluding remarks, Rita said:
“From now on, the people of Manikganj will receive dialysis services at an affordable cost within their own locality—this is our biggest achievement. We believe that the more advanced healthcare expands, the more the quality of life of the marginalized population will improve. With transparency, professionalism, and compassion, we plan to introduce more medical services in the future.”
