Army probes scuffle after Uttara plane crash
  Date : 23-07-2025

Bangladesh Army has launched an investigation into an untoward incident involving soldiers and civilians during rescue operations following the Air Force jet crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area.

A statement in this regard was issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday (July 22).

ISPR said through this probe aims to ease down the misunderstanding aroused between army personnel and members of the public who had gathered at the crash site.

According to ISPR, during the rescue efforts on Monday afternoon, a large crowd of onlookers ignored repeated requests to clear the area, creating serious obstacles to the evacuation and medical response. This led to miscommunication and argument between some civilians and on-duty army personnel and volunteers, resulting in what the military termed an “unfortunate incident.”

“The Army has taken the matter seriously and initiated a formal investigation. If any personnel are found responsible, appropriate administrative action will be taken,” the statement said.

ISPR emphasized that the Army remains committed to serving the people with professionalism and the highest sense of duty.
