Mother Hacked to Death Over Land Dispute in Manikganj
  Date : 11-09-2025

Kamrul Hasan: A brutal son has been accused of slaughtering his mother to death in Daulatpur, Manikganj, following a long-standing family feud over property and wealth.

The incident took place early Thursday morning at Mandarta village under Chakmirpur Union of the upazila.

The deceased has been identified as Karuna Rani Bhadra (62), wife of late Fatik Chandra Bhadra of the same village. Since the murder, her son Rabi Chandra Bhadra (42) has gone into hiding.

According to police and local sources, a dispute over family property had been ongoing between the mother and son for a long time. It is believed that, driven by this conflict, Rabi Chandra Bhadra used a sharp machete to slit his mother’s throat inside their home in the early hours of the morning.

Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) A.R.M. Al Mamun said the accused son has been absconding since the incident. Efforts are underway to arrest him, and legal proceedings are in progress.
