Workers block road in Banani, demand unpaid wages

A group of workers from Masud Apparels Limited blocked Chairman Bari Road in Banani, Dhaka, on Tuesday (26 August), demanding their unpaid wages. The protest began around 10:30 am, halting outgoing traffic. Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mehedi Hasan confirmed the incident.

“Workers of Masud Apparels Limited blocked Chairman Bari Road in Banani around 10:30 am, stopping vehicles and demanding their unpaid wages. Police have been deployed to manage the situation,” OC Mehedi Hasan said.

The blockade has caused severe traffic congestion from Mohakhali to Banani, with police working to control the flow.

Meanwhile, the Gulshan Traffic Division posted on Facebook confirming the protest. The post stated that workers were demonstrating at the U-turn point near Chairman Bari in Banani over various demands, blocking outgoing traffic on the Mohakhali–Uttara route. Traffic from Uttara, however, is moving normally. Additional police personnel have been deployed at the scene.
