  Date : 18-05-2025

Online Desk : Tragedy struck near Eura Airport on Saturday as two helicopters collided mid-air, killing all five people on board, Finnish authorities confirmed.

Detective Chief Inspector Johannes Siirila stated, "Five people died in a helicopter accident near Eura Airport on Saturday." According to flight records, one helicopter was carrying two individuals and the other three. Both aircraft had departed from Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and were en route to Piikajärvi, a destination located just a few kilometres from the crash site.

While the identities of the victims have not been officially released, local media reported that the passengers were believed to be businessmen.

Eyewitness Antti Marjanen, speaking to Finnish newspaper *Iltalehti*, described the harrowing moment of the collision. "One of them dropped like a stone and the other one more slowly. I didn`t hear any sound," he said, noting that the crash appeared to happen during an aerial manoeuvre.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
