3 treasury officials among 4 killed in Dinajpur accident

Four people, including three treasury officials, were killed and five others injured after a truck collided head-on with a microbus in Dinajpur`s Birganj on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Dinajpurtreasury office super Delwar Hossain, 45, Thakurgaon treasury office auditors Julfiker Ali and Imrul Hasan; and microbus driver Manik Hossain, 34.

According to police and witnesses, a microbus was heading towards Dinajpur from Thakurgaon amid rain. When it reached Bablu Farm on the Dinajpur-Thakurgaon highway around 5:30AM, a cement-laden truck from opposite direction collided with the micro, leaving two dead on the scene.

Fire Service and police members rescued seven injured from the spot. But two succumbed to their injuries at Thakuragaon Sadar Hospital.

Birganj Police Station OC Abdul Gafur said, "Legal action is under process."
