High Commission for Pakistan in Dhaka observes Kashmir ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’

Online Desk: Pakistan High Commission, Dhaka solemnly observed "Youm-e-Istehsal" Kashmir to mark India`s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019. High Commissioner Imran Haider welcomed the guests to the commemorative event.

The messages of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar were read on the occasion.

The messages emphasized that India`s unilateral actions, including the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, can never change the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir or alter the ground realities. They reaffirmed that the Government and people of Pakistan stand in complete solidarity with the innocent and voiceless people of Jammu and Kashmir and will continue to extend unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support to their just struggle for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in the UN Charter and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. They also called upon the international community to ensure the implementation of the UN Charter, international law and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, enabling the Kashmiri people to exercise their just and legitimate right to self-determination.

A photo exhibition depicting the sufferings of the Kashmiri people under Indian occupation was organized on the occasion. A documentary was also screened highlighting the human rights violations, violence and persecution inflicted upon the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in an attempt to silence their legitimate voice.

The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community, media representatives and people from different walks of life, who expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Special prayers were offered for the martyrs and victims of Indian aggression and for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to remain steadfast in their resolve for freedom, justice and the realization of their right to self-determination.
