The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confiscated 201.5 kg powder of Viagra component, packed in four sacks, during a raid at the Benapole border on Saturday, May 17.
The seizure took place on the paved road in front of SA Paribahan in Benapole Bazar, with the consignment valued at approximately Tk 60.45 lakh.
According to BGB, smugglers arrived in a van at the location but fled upon noticing a BGB patrol team, abandoning the sacks.
The Viagra powder was intended for smuggling across the border.
Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui, Commanding Officer of Jashore 49 BGB Battalion, said, "We have intensified intelligence and patrols at the border to curb drug trafficking and smuggling."
