A fire that erupted in Shyamal Palli slum at Mirpur section 13 in Dhaka was brought under control at 9:10 pm on Sunday, May 18, after over an hour of efforts by seven Fire Service units, according to Fire Service Control Room Officer Md Anwarul Islam.

The blaze was reported at 7:55 pm.

Islam confirmed that the first Fire Service unit arrived by 8:10 pm, followed by three units from Mirpur Fire Station, two from Kurmitola Fire Station, and two from Pallabi Fire Station.

All units worked together to extinguish the fire. Details regarding the fire’s cause or any casualties are yet to be determined.
