The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on all types of gatherings in several areas of the capital, effective immediately.

The decision was detailed in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali.

According to the statement, the ban applies to areas surrounding Kochukhet Road, Bijoy Sarani, the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO), Birsreshtho Shaheed Jahangir Gate, BAF Shaheen College, Mohakhali Flyover, Sainik Club intersection, Bhashantek, Matikata, and ECB Chattar.

The DMP did not specify the duration of the restriction or the reasons behind it in the statement.
