49,103 Bangladeshi Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi; Another Death Reported

A total of 49,103 pilgrims from Bangladesh have arrived in Saudi Arabia via 124 flights operated so far for the holy Hajj pilgrimage.

This information was released in the daily bulletin of the Holy Hajj 2025, published on the Hajj portal on Sunday morning (May 18th).

According to the bulletin, as of midnight last night, 49,103 pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia on 124 flights operated by three airlines. Among them, 4,583 pilgrims traveled through government arrangements, and 37,088 through private management. Of the 124 flights, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 62, Saudi Airlines operated 42, and Flynas Airlines operated 16 flights.
Meanwhile, one more Bangladeshi pilgrim has died in Saudi Arabia during this year`s Hajj, bringing the total number of Bangladeshi pilgrim deaths to seven. These include six men and one woman.

The latest death occurred on Saturday (May 17th) in Madinah, and the deceased has been identified as Md. Joynal Hossain (60), a resident of Gazipur Sadar. He traveled for Hajj under private management.

This year, a total of 87,100 pilgrims will travel from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Of these, 5,200 are under government management and 81,900 under private management.

The formal commencement of this year`s Hajj flights began on April 29th, with the first dedicated flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying 398 pilgrims departing for Saudi Arabia.

The Hajj flights this year will conclude on May 31st. The first return flight for pilgrims is scheduled for June 10th, and the last return flight is on July 10th. The holy Hajj is expected to take place around June 5th, subject to the sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia.
