Kamrul Hasan : If there are differences among the freedom fighters, there will be no room for positive hope for the country. Freedom fighters are the guides of the nation - we must learn from them how to love the country, stay organized and work for the benefit of the nation.
Therefore, there should be no differences, everyone should work together for the welfare of the country and the nation, said Afroza Khanam Rita, member of the advisory board of the BNP Chairperson and convener of Manikganj district BNP.
He made this comment while addressing the local freedom fighters including the central and district leaders of the Muktijoddha Sangsad on Friday afternoon.
He said, “We want no rifts to arise among our freedom fighters. If everyone is united under one umbrella, we will be able to play a strong role for the country as soldiers of Ziaur Rahman.”
He also said that minor conflicts can exist in any organization. However, it is necessary for everyone to unite by forgetting personal mistakes.
There is no unity against those who are working against the party—rather, everyone has to work unitedly for the interests of Manikganj and the country.
The chief guest complained that although BNP leaders and activists were subjected to various tortures, attacks and cases during the dictatorial government, freedom fighters were not given due importance in Manikganj. Even those who supported BNP were deprived of the Muktijoddha Bhaban. Now there is no more division, everyone has to be under the umbrella of unity.
Under the chairmanship of Bir Muktijoddha Abdul Mannan, convener of the District Freedom Fighters’ Association, and under the management of joint convener Dr. Haider Ali, Superintendent of Police Mosh. Yasmin Khatun, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Committee Member-Secretary Bir Muktijoddha Sadek Ahmed Khan, Member Nurul Islam, Dhaka Metropolitan Convener Nurul Bashar, Manikganj District Committee Member Secretary Shahidul Haque, along with the leadership of Muktijoddha Sangsad of various upazilas of the district, local individuals, and leading figures from the district upazila, city BNP and all its affiliated organizations were present.
