kamrul Hasan: Wedding arrangements mean a decorated stage, a flower-covered ceremony and the noise of guests. But a completely different picture was seen in Manikganj. The most memorable day of the life of a bride and groom ended in hospital beds in serious injuries.
The incident took place on Thursday night at the city`s Afroza Begum General Hospital. It is learned that the wedding date of Abhijit Saha, the eldest son of businessman Arvind Saha, a resident of Chan Mia Lane in Manikganj city, had been fixed in advance. However, a few days before the wedding date, Abhijit was seriously injured in a road accident in the Dhamrai area on his way back from Dhaka. He was quickly admitted to the hospital.
Despite physical difficulties, the bride and groom`s family decided to complete the wedding on the scheduled day. When the matter was reported to the hospital authorities, they allocated an unused room for the wedding. After that, this different kind of arrangement was completed with the consent of both families.
The bride and groom held hands on the hospital bed and pledged to walk on a new path in life. With limited decorations, the presence of loved ones, and an atmosphere of love, even an ordinary arrangement became a special moment.
Abhijit`s father Arvind Saha said, "We never thought there would be such joy in the hospital. Since the date was already fixed, we organized the wedding at the appointed time without changing the date."
One of the rituals of Hindu Bengali weddings is the Satpak ceremony. However, in this wedding, the groom was circled around the bride on the hospital bed.
Afroza Begum General Hospital`s Medical and Unit Head Dr. Sirajul Islam said, "We are allowing the ceremony as the patient`s condition is stable. Our authorities are always by the side of the patients."
This exceptional wedding in Manikganj has not only created a stir among the locals, but has also gone viral on social media
