Nat’l consensus commission to resume dialogue Monday

The second phase of political dialogue with National Consensus Commission is set to begin on Monday.

The Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus scheduled to formally inaugurate the session.

The event will take place at 3:30 PM at Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka’s Segunbagicha area, according to commission sources.

On the opening day, only Dr. Yunus is expected to speak, while formal discussions with political parties will commence the following day, Tuesday. One representative from each of 32 political parties and alliances has been invited to attend Monday’s session.

The National Consensus Commission previously conducted 45 dialogue sessions with 33 political parties and alliances between March 20 and May 19. While full consensus on major constitutional issues has yet to be achieved, the commission reports that partial or complete agreement has been reached on several key matters.

Officials from the commission have stated that the second phase will adopt a thematic approach, focusing on unresolved fundamental issues where political consensus remains elusive.
