Ex-UP member among 3 killed in clash in Netrokona

Three people were killed in a clash between two groups over a longstanding dispute in the Maugati area of Netrokona Sadar Upazila on Saturday night.

Kazi Shaneowaz, Officer-in-Charge of Netrokona Sadar Model Police Station, confirmed the incident to Jago News. The identities of the deceased have not been immediately confirmed.

According to the OC, a former Union Parishad member was killed during the initial clash around 11:00 pm. Following this, his supporters attacked the homes of the opposing group, leaving six people injured. The injured were admitted to Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital, where one more person died early Sunday morning.

Later, another individual succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, bringing the death toll to three. Police have been deployed at the scene, the officer added.
