Kamrul Hasan: Afroza Khanum Rita, Advisor to the BNP Chairperson and Convenor of Manikganj District BNP, has urged measures to ensure the welfare of farmers and to prevent them from facing any difficulties. She stated, “Through your efforts, our farmer brothers should have easy access to government-fixed or low-cost seeds. You must focus on making this possible.”

This appeal was made on Sunday (12 October) evening at her political office in Munnu City during the introduction and discussion meeting of the newly formed committee of the BADC Seed Dealers Association, Manikganj District branch.

The meeting was chaired by the Association President Md. Mizanur Rahman and moderated by General Secretary Md. Tofazzal Hossain Rajib. Also present were members of the District BNP Convenor Committee, including A.F.M. Nur Taj Alam Bahar, General Secretary of the District Farmers’ League Abdus Salam Badal, and other prominent leaders.

Afroza Khanum Rita said, “As we visit different areas, we see that no development activities have been undertaken. Problems and mismanagement are everywhere, and there is no sign of progress. During the BNP’s tenure, every sector in the country witnessed development, businesses benefited, and the economy remained stable.”

She further added, “Our leader Tarique Rahman is tirelessly working for the economic prosperity of the people. If you take responsibility and work actively on the ground, BNP will once again become a symbol of public trust. In the upcoming elections, we must work together to ensure BNP’s victory. The solution to the problems you have raised today is one—bringing BNP to power through democratic means.”

Highlighting the limitations of the current government, she said, “For 17 years, the fascist government has been unable to accomplish anything in Manikganj. There are no parks for children, no playgrounds, and no community centers for major events. None of the planned developments for Manikganj have been implemented.”

During the meeting, the newly formed committee members were greeted with flowers as a gesture of goodwill. Leaders pledged to make the organization more dynamic and united in the future and promised to work alongside farmers to ensure their welfare.
