Pirojpur Correspondent: The Pirojpur district unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has honoured 350 meritorious students, including those who achieved GPA-5 in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Dakhil and equivalent examinations.

The reception was organised at the Pirojpur Convention Centre on Saturday morning.

At the beginning of the programme, the meritorious students were welcomed with flowers. Later, 350 students from different educational institutions across the district were presented with crests, books and various student-friendly publications.

The programme was presided over by Pirojpur district Chhatra Shibir President Md Imran Khan. Pirojpur-1 lawmaker Masud Saidee attended the event as the chief guest, while Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Central Secretary General Sibgatullah Sibga was the chief discussant.

Pirojpur district Jamaat-e-Islami acting Ameer Maulana Abdur Rab, Chhatra Shibir Central Planning and Development Secretary Sumon Sarker and Jahangirnagar University Central Students` Union (JAKSU) AGS Ferdous Al Hasan attended the programme as special guests.

Among the GPA-5 recipients, Ratul Islam, Tasnim Jannat, Omar Faruk, Nafiz Khan, Abdullah Al Talha, Abida Sultana Labiba, Ishrat Jahan and Bonita Taslim spoke at the programme.

Md Aslam and Shahnewaz spoke on behalf of the parents of the meritorious students.

The speakers urged the students to develop themselves as competent and responsible citizens by combining academic excellence with moral values. They also stressed the importance of using their knowledge and abilities for the welfare of society and the country.

Leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir at different levels, along with parents of the honoured students, were present at the event.
